Street Art Meets the Sea! “The 20th Busan International Magic Festival” … “7th Magic Busking” to Be Held!

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) and the Busan International Magic Festival Organizing Committee (Executive Chairperson Kang Yeol-woo) announced that the “20th Busan International Magic Festival (Busan International Magic Festival)” and the “7th Magic Busking” will be held on September 27–28 at Haeundae Beach.

This year’s festival will be organized in collaboration with the 2025 Busan Street Arts Festival hosted by the Busan Cultural Foundation, featuring participatory, audience-centered magic performances.

The festival will showcase a variety of magicians from different countries, delivering dazzling performances. Street performances (busking), event zones, and promotional booths will also be available.

• ●Street Performances (Busking): The program includes performances by domestic and international magicians such as Lee Young-joo (Korea) and Michael Wong (Indonesia), featuring two domestic and three international performers. In particular, magician Lee Young-joo is recognized as a leading Korean magician, noted for his sophisticated staging and creative direction on both domestic and international stages. Michael Wong from Indonesia will present an imaginative performance blending play and magic.

• ●Event Zone: Visitors who participate in the event survey will receive small souvenirs, while the promotional booths will provide information about upcoming major festivals and programs, enhancing visitor engagement and anticipation.

In particular, this year’s event will expand into a broader artistic celebration where magicians and audiences share the stage with music, dance, theater, and circus performances. Through this, the festival is expected to broaden the scope of performing arts and create synergy by contributing to tourism revitalization.

Over the two-day event, audiences will enjoy:

• ●Dynamic dance performances showcasing spontaneity and energy,

• ●Intimate short plays and movement-based theater,

• ●Colorful circus acts combining juggling and acrobatics.
