Traffic Control on Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 Due to Installation of Indoor Fire Hydrant Systems

Busan Metropolitan City Construction Headquarters announced that traffic control on Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 will be enforced from October 15, 2025, until December 10, 2025, due to construction for the installation of indoor fire hydrant systems.

This traffic control is being carried out to install new indoor fire hydrants, which will be used in the event of a fire inside the tunnels. The construction will be undertaken by EA Technology Co., Ltd. and Changseong Electric Co., Ltd.

Construction Overview

• ●Project Name: Installation of Indoor Fire Hydrant Systems in Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 (Fire Protection Construction)

• ●Location: Both directions of Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2, Haeundae-gu

• ●Scale: 23 indoor fire hydrants in Tunnel 1, 24 indoor fire hydrants in Tunnel 2

• ●Period: October 15, 2025 – December 10, 2025

To minimize inconvenience to citizens, only one out of three lanes will be controlled, and traffic control will take place at night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

• ●From October 15 to October 22, 2025, one northbound lane (Gwang-an → Songjeong) of Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 will be controlled.

• ●From October 23 to December 10, 2025, one lane in each direction of Jangsan Tunnels 1 and 2 will be controlled.

Out of the total three lanes, only one will be controlled, while the remaining two lanes will remain available for use. In addition, to avoid traffic congestion during commuting hours, traffic control will only be enforced during the nighttime hours from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
