Busan Metropolitan City, “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon” Second Event… Up to KRW 50,000 Benefit for Citizens Using Dongbaekjeon!

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that to promote economic recovery and stimulate local consumption, it will hold a prize draw event for citizens who apply for and use the “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon (2nd round)” via the local currency Dongbaekjeon, following the success of the first round.

This event will automatically include users who receive and pay with the “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon (2nd round)” through Dongbaekjeon. A total of 20,110 winners will be selected by draw to receive policy support funds worth up to KRW 50,000, with a total budget of approximately KRW 1 billion.

The event period is from September 22 to October 31. Citizens will be automatically entered into the draw when they make payments totaling KRW 100,000 or more with Dongbaekjeon.

Winners will receive:

• ●First prize: KRW 50,000 (10 people)

• ●Second prize: KRW 30,000 (100 people)

• ●Third prize: KRW 5,000 (20,000 people)

Compared to the first round, which had about 5,000 winners, this second event has been expanded nearly fourfold to about 20,000 winners, allowing more citizens to benefit.

Results will be announced in November through the Busan is Good Dongbaekjeon app and the Dongbaekjeon website (busandong100.kr). For details, please refer to the Dongbaekjeon app or contact the Small and Medium Business Support Division at 051-888-4794.

In addition to the prize draw, citizens applying for the “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon” through Dongbaekjeon can also enjoy various other benefits. For example, Dongbaekjeon check card users may receive discounts of 2 percent at traditional markets depending on previous monthly spending (varies by card company), although cashback is not provided in this case. Dongbaekjeon can also be used for “in-app payment” on the public delivery app “Ttaenggyeoyo,” offering greater convenience than general cards, which only allow “meet-in-person” payments.

Alongside this event, the city has raised Dongbaekjeon cashback rates to a maximum of 13 percent since September to further boost local consumption and small business sales.

Dongbaekjeon Cashback Rates by Annual Merchant Sales:

• ●Under KRW 1 billion: 13% cashback

• ●KRW 1–3 billion: 11% cashback

• ●Over KRW 3 billion: No cashback

As of August 2025, Dongbaekjeon has 175,532 affiliated merchants, of which 159,514 are businesses with annual sales under KRW 1 billion.
Applicable platforms include Ttaenggyeoyo (public delivery app), Dongbaek Taxi (public taxi-hailing app), and Dongbaek Mall (regional online marketplace), all offering 13% cashback.

Kim Bong-cheol, Assistant Mayor of Digital Economy Office, stated, “We hope that this second round of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon event will provide more citizens with benefits and help stimulate consumption. With the basic Dongbaekjeon cashback rate raised to a maximum of 13 percent since September, we expect the combined effect of this event and the higher cashback rate to significantly boost the local economy and increase small business sales.”
