Youth and Citizens Together Create the “Dream Growth Festival”! The 30th Geumnyeonsan Festival to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “30th Geumnyeonsan Festival” on September 20 from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Geumnyeonsan Youth Training Institute in Suyeong-gu.

This year’s event, marking its 30th anniversary, will invite both citizens and youth. The festival features a variety of special events, including a roundtable discussion to hear ideas for the development of the institute, youth K-pop performances, B-boy dance performances, and a magic show.

From 13:30 to 15:00, more than 100 participants—including youth (clubs, youth participation committees, etc.), related organizations, and citizens—will gather with youth experts for a roundtable discussion on the theme “Geumnyeonsan Youth Training Institute: A Place for Youth Growth Created Together.” The discussion will focus on the future direction and operational development of the institute as envisioned by local youth and citizens.

From 15:00 to 21:00, 11 pre-registered local youth dance and music teams will take the stage for K-pop performances to fully showcase their talents and energy. The program also includes special invited performances such as B-boy dance, a magic show, and an astronomy lecture by Choi Hyung-bin, President of the Korea Astronomy & Space Science Museum Association and Director of the Daejeon Citizens’ Observatory.

In addition, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., youth-related institutions and organizations will host around 30 experiential and astronomy programs, offering participants a wide variety of attractions and engaging activities.

These include over 20 hands-on experiences jointly organized with youth groups, such as natural dyeing, climbing, Madeleine baking, natural shampoo bar making, and virtual reality (VR) experiences.

From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., participants can enjoy astronomy activities such as observing celestial phenomena through telescopes with expert explanations, experiencing virtual constellations in a planetarium dome, and taking part in more than 10 astronomy-related hands-on programs, including making glow-in-the-dark star bracelets and Ursa Major felt dolls.

For the convenience of citizens attending the event, the institute will operate free shuttle buses every 20 to 30 minutes from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., running between the GS25 Hwangnyeong Hillside store (across the street) and the entrance of the institute.
