Busan Metropolitan City announced that Mayor Park Heong-joon, together with BNK Busan Bank (hereafter “Busan Bank”) and the Busan Community Chest of Korea (hereafter “Community Chest”), will hold a donation ceremony titled “BNK Busan Bank and Busan Community Chest of Korea Deliver Donations for Chuseok” at 16:40 today (September 16) in the City Hall Protocol Room.

The ceremony will be attended by Mayor Park Heong-joon, Bang Seong-bin, President of Busan Bank, and Lee Soo-tae, Chairman of the Community Chest.

At the ceremony, Busan Bank will deliver donations worth 440 million KRW, while the Community Chest will provide 1.095 billion KRW. The donated funds and goods will be used to support neighbors in need during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

Busan Bank will provide 400 million KRW in the form of “Dongbaekjeon” prepaid cards (50,000 KRW each) to 8,000 low-income households, and its employees will purchase goods worth 40 million KRW in Onnuri gift certificates directly from traditional markets to deliver to district and county welfare centers.

Busan Bank has continued social contribution activities every holiday season to support underprivileged neighbors in the community.

Earlier this year, the bank produced holiday gift packages worth 500 million KRW for 10,000 households in need, and in June it donated 2,500 electric fans worth 200 million KRW to vulnerable groups to help them cope with extreme heat.

In celebration of Chuseok, the Community Chest will also provide special living expenses totaling 1.095 billion KRW to 10,000 low-income households and 950 households residing in single-room housing.

As part of its planned initiatives, the Community Chest provides special living expenses every Lunar New Year and Chuseok to support underprivileged neighbors in the region.

Mayor Park Heong-joon expressed his gratitude, saying, “The valuable support from Busan Bank and the Community Chest for neighbors in need will greatly help our citizens celebrate Chuseok. The fundamental element in making Busan a city where people want to live is building good relationships among those who live together. Our city will continue to cooperate and make efforts to create a warm community in Busan.”
