Busan Metropolitan City Recruiting Companies to Participate in the “Consultation Meeting with Overseas Trade Advisors”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency (President Song Bok-chul) announced that they are recruiting companies to participate in the “Consultation Meeting with Overseas Trade Advisors,” which will be held on October 24 to support the overseas expansion of local SMEs.

Since 2017, the city has been operating the “Consultation Meeting with Overseas Trade Advisors,” inviting both overseas trade advisors and buyers they directly engage from local markets. The event provides opportunities such as overseas market development consulting, sharing of local market trends, and one-on-one export consultations.

Overseas trade advisors are Korean businesspeople of Busan origin with extensive experience and networks in overseas markets. They are appointed upon recommendation from overseas diplomatic missions, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Korea International Trade Association, and the World-OKTA (World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations). Currently, 18 advisors across 15 countries are active.

This consultation meeting will cover a comprehensive range of items, including both industrial and consumer goods. Approximately 60 companies will be selected to receive support such as overseas market entry consulting, business consultations with overseas buyers, and interpretation services.

Local SMEs wishing to participate must apply through the city’s Integrated Overseas Marketing System (trade.bepa.kr) by September 23.
