Busan Metropolitan City Conducts the 2025 Community Security Survey

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that, in cooperation with 16 districts and counties, it will conduct the “2025 Busan Metropolitan City Community Security Survey” over a five-week period from September 15 to October 17.

This survey aims to comprehensively identify citizens’ living conditions and welfare needs. Its purpose is to secure data for comparing and analyzing the level of community security, thereby narrowing regional disparities and supporting balanced development.

The survey will be conducted on a sample of 8,260 households across Busan, including 100 households from each district and county that belong to groups with special welfare needs such as low-income families and persons with disabilities.

Professional surveyors will visit households and conduct one-on-one interviews using tablets and questionnaires.

The survey items include: general household information; welfare needs of specific groups such as children, youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities; social security demands related to employment, law, and rights protection; the perceived urgency and effectiveness of policies; and awareness of regional imbalances.

In particular, the survey is designed to reflect Busan’s pressing welfare issues, including the living problems associated with the increase in single-person households, the risk of solitary deaths, and disparities in social security among districts and counties. It is expected that these will enable the incorporation of practical, on-the-ground voices into the community security plan.

The results will serve as foundational data for establishing the 6th Community Security Plan (2027–2030).

Jung Tae-ki, Director General of the Social Welfare Bureau, stated, “Your valuable responses will be the driving force behind Busan’s welfare policies,” and added, “We kindly ask for your active cooperation when surveyors visit your home.”
