“A Donation to Save My Family’s Life” … Campaign for the Hometown Love Donation Program Designated Projects

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon), together with the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, announced that today (the 4th), on the occasion of “Hometown Love Day,” it will conduct a joint campaign at the Central Fire Academy (located in Gongju) and the National Fire Agency (located in Sejong) to raise awareness of the “Busan Hometown Love Donation Program Designated Projects” and encourage citizens’ active participation.

This campaign was organized to highlight the importance of the two designated projects under the Hometown Love Donation Program promoted by the city: ▲ “Installation of Community Firefighting Equipment in Fire-Prone Areas” and ▲ “Restarting the Stopped Heart Project,” as well as to encourage participation in donations.

By visiting both the frontline of firefighting and the policy-making site, the city plans to raise awareness of donation projects that safeguard citizens’ lives and safety, targeting fire academy trainees and National Fire Agency staff, thereby fostering broader public engagement.

In particular, on the same day in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety held a commemorative ceremony for “Hometown Love Day” to create momentum for the nationwide activation of the Hometown Love Donation Program, while the city also joined this effort through its campaign.

Meanwhile, from July 25 to September 22, the city is conducting a special event titled “A Donation to Save My Family’s Life” as part of the Busan Hometown Love Donation campaign.

First, basic benefits are provided: ▲ For donations up to 100,000 KRW, the entire amount is tax-deductible during year-end tax settlement [for amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW, 16.5 percent is deductible], and ▲ donors receive return gifts worth 30 percent of the donation amount.

Additionally, up to 600 donors whose donation order number is a multiple of 10 (10th, 20th, 30th … up to the 6,000th) will receive regional specialty products worth 30,000 KRW (such as pork belly, fish cakes, spicy stir-fried octopus and beef intestines with bean sprouts, rice, bread, or confectionery) as prizes.

To participate in the event, one must first register as a member on the Hometown Love E-eum website (ilovegohyang.go.kr), click “Donate to a Specific Project,” select “Busan Metropolitan City (City Hall),” and choose one of the designated projects to donate 100,000 KRW or more in a single transaction. Event participation is automatic upon donation.
