Busan Metropolitan City Holds Legal Training on the Construction Industry Framework Act for General Construction Companies

Busan Metropolitan City Mayor Park Heong-joon announced that the city would host the “2025 Legal Training on the Construction Industry Framework Act for General Construction Companies” at the City Hall Auditorium on Thursday, August 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This training is targeted at executives and employees of 910 general construction companies in the region. It has been organized to minimize administrative sanctions against construction companies amid the ongoing slump in the regional construction economy and to establish fair trade practices within the construction market.

The training will be led by a professional instructor from the Korea Construction Association, who will cover key topics of the Construction Industry Framework Act. The program will focus on practical content such as construction project production systems, construction business registration requirements, contracting and subcontracting management systems, and recent major legislative amendments.

In particular, the session will emphasize newly revised legal provisions such as clarifying the exceptions to the mandatory assignment of construction engineers to sites, and reflecting the employment performance of construction workers by skill grade in construction capacity evaluations. These are essential updates that on-site practitioners must fully understand, and the training is expected to enhance practical application in the field.

Im Kyung-mo, Director General of the Urban Innovation & Balanced Development Office, stated, “Through this training, we expect stakeholders in the construction industry to understand and comply with the law correctly, thereby helping to establish a fair and safe construction market order.”

He also stressed, “In order to eradicate serious accidents that have been repeatedly occurring at construction sites, Busan Metropolitan City has been continuously conducting inspections related to illegal subcontracting and wage arrears. We ask for active cooperation from the construction industry to safeguard the lives and safety of our citizens.”
