“Adding Honor to the Finest Skills”… Busan Metropolitan City Invites Applications for the “2025 Busan Metropolitan City Master Technician”

□ Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will accept applications for the “2025 Busan Metropolitan City Master Technician Selection Plan” from today (20th) through September 10 to identify and recognize highly skilled technicians who have greatly contributed to technological advancement with craftsmanship in the industrial field.

□ The “Busan Metropolitan City Master Technician” refers to an outstanding skilled technician who contributes to the development of industrial technology with craftsmanship while working in regional industrial sites. The City has selected Master Technicians every year to identify and honor outstanding skilled professionals in the region and boost their morale.
○ This year, candidates will be recruited in 86 occupations across 38 fields, and up to 10 candidates will be selected in total.
○ Those selected as “Busan Metropolitan City Master Technician” will receive a certificate and a plaque, along with a technical incentive of KRW 10 million per person (KRW 5 million per year for two years).

□ Eligibility requirements include: ▲having worked for 15 years or more in the same field and occupation in an industrial site, currently residing in Busan Metropolitan City for 3 years or more as of the application date and working at a business located in the City ▲having significantly contributed to the development of local skilled technology or improvement of the status of skilled technicians ▲having no prior selection as a Busan Metropolitan City Master Technician or a Republic of Korea Master Technician in the same field.

□ Applications will be accepted from today (20th) through September 10. Applicants must complete an application form recommended by ▲the mayor of the district/county (jurisdiction of residence or business location) ▲the head of a company in the Busan region or the head of a city-level industry association ▲or the head of a non-profit organization or association related to skilled technology, and submit it in person or by mail to the Busan Metropolitan City Hall (21st floor, Division of Employment and Labor, 1001 Jungang-daero, Yeonje-gu, Busan Metropolitan City).
