Call for Research Project Proposals for 2026 by the Busan Institute of Health & Environment

The Busan Institute of Health & Environment (hereinafter referred to as “the Institute”) announced that it will invite research project proposals for the “2026 Research Projects” from today (20th) until September 16, in order to carry out research projects that contribute to the improvement of citizens’ quality of life and the development of municipal administration.

○ Every year, the Institute conducts research projects on key issues in each field to enhance citizens’ quality of life, establish a pleasant urban environment, and promote an advanced research culture. The results are published in renowned domestic and international academic journals and shared with relevant institutions.

The detailed fields of the call are as follows: ▲Infectious Diseases (viruses and bacteria) ▲Food & Drugs (food, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products) ▲Air Environment (air monitoring, environmental health, living environment, industrial environment, fine dust) ▲Water Environment (environmental ecology, drinking water, soil and waste, waterfront environment) ▲Animal Hygiene (animal quarantine and livestock products).

○ Submitted research proposals will be evaluated based on criteria such as practicality and academic value through the following procedures: internal review by the relevant departments of the Institute, in-house evaluation, and external evaluation by experts such as university professors. The final projects will be selected and announced in December.

Any interested citizen of Busan may submit a research proposal. By September 16, proposals should be completed using the designated form available on the Institute’s website busan.go.kr/ihe/healer01 and submitted via email mero214@korea.kr
