Korea Asset Management Corporation Donates KRW 200 Million for the Creation of the Nakdong River Garden Social Value Management (ESG) Corporate Companion Garden

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will hold the “Donation Ceremony between Busan Metropolitan City and Korea Asset Management Corporation” today (12th) at 3:00 p.m. in the International Protocol Room of Busan City Hall.

The ceremony will be attended by Seong Heui-yeob, Vice Mayor for Future Innovation of Busan Metropolitan City, and Kim Seo-jung, Vice President of Korea Asset Management Corporation, among others.

The KRW 200 million donation delivered by Korea Asset Management Corporation will be fully allocated to the project of creating the “Social Value Management (ESG) Corporate Companion Garden” within the Busan Nakdong River Garden.

This project, as part of Korea Asset Management Corporation’s practice of Social Value Management (ESG), aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable garden city by creating gardens that reflect corporate identity and public interest values.

The “Social Value Management (ESG) Corporate Companion Garden” will be a themed garden harmonizing with the natural ecology of the Nakdong River Garden, forming a landscape in connection with ecological resources such as migratory birds and wetlands, and providing visitors with a variety of attractions.

In particular, it is expected not only to fulfill the requirements for National Garden designation and promote the spread of garden culture, but also to serve as a hub for presenting Busan’s distinctive garden scenery to visitors from home and abroad.

Meanwhile, since its establishment in 1962, Korea Asset Management Corporation has contributed to public asset management and financial stability, and has been actively engaged in social contribution activities.

The corporation has been at the forefront of Social Value Management (ESG) practices, implementing a wide range of social contribution projects, including environmental protection, support for the underprivileged, and housing and education assistance for young people.

Vice Mayor for Future Innovation Seong Heui-yeob stated, “The meaningful donation from Korea Asset Management Corporation will greatly contribute to the designation of the Busan Nakdong River Garden as a National Garden and to the spread of garden culture,” adding, “Our city will continue to work together with businesses and citizens to create ‘a city in a garden, Busan.’”
