Busan Metropolitan City to Host the 13th Korea International Marine Leisure Week

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the 13th Korea International Marine Leisure Week (KIMA WEEK 2025, hereinafter referred to as “the event”) from August 14 to 17 at Dadaepo Beach and other venues.

Since 2013, the city has held KIMA WEEK annually at its major beaches to promote marine leisure culture and develop related industries. The event is hosted by the city and organized by the Korea Marine Leisure Network.

Following last year’s main events at Gwangalli Beach, this year’s edition will be centered at Dadaepo Beach to boost marine leisure tourism in western Busan. The event will include KIMA BEACH, marine leisure experiences, and the Marine Leisure Tourism Forum.

[KIMA BEACH]
At Dadaepo Beach, the main venue of this year’s event, visitors can enjoy various activities from August 14 to 17, including experience booths, performances, beach yoga, and “Meong~Hae” (relaxing at sea).

• ●[Experience Booths: August 14–16, 15:00–20:00] Participate in games and craft programs inside eco-friendly Mongolian tents.

• ●[Indie Band Performances: August 15–16, 19:00–20:00] Indie bands will perform over two nights, adding excitement to KIMA WEEK evenings.

• ●[Beach Yoga: August 16–17, 18:00–19:00] Practice yoga with professional instructors while enjoying the sunset over the beach.

• ●[Meong~Hae: August 15–16, 18:00–20:00] Enjoy relaxation and meditation on the sea while stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).

[Marine Leisure Experiences]
In addition, throughout the month of August, participants can enjoy activities such as stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), jet boating, surfing, yacht tours, and cruises.

All experiences can be booked in advance at discounted rates through the “Holicjam” mobile app, a marine leisure information and reservation platform, on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation limits and personal costs may apply to each activity.

[Marine Leisure Tourism Forum]
Furthermore, on September 12–13, a forum will be held at Korea Maritime & Ocean University, with around 100 participants from academia and industry. The forum will conclude this year’s event, featuring discussions on strategies to enhance the competitiveness of the marine leisure tourism industry and explore its future development.
