Google to Host “AI Startup School” in Busan Applications Now Open for Participants

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that Google for Startups’ “Startup School” will be held at the Busan Eurasia Platform for 6 weeks beginning August 27, 2025.

○ The “Startup School” is a global entrepreneurship education program hosted by Google for Startups, offering practical training to enhance technical and business skills for aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage startups.

2025 AI Startup School – Program Overview

• ●Schedule: August 27 (Wed) – September 30 (Tue), 5:00–7:00 PM (Once a week, 6 sessions total)

• ●Location: Room 109, Busan Eurasia Platform

• ●Target Audience: Aspiring entrepreneurs, startup founders, or anyone interested in AI

• ●Content: Lectures by industry professionals, Google employees, and AI startup CEOs, with live Q&A

This year’s program focuses on empowering AI-based startups, and Busan will be the only domestic host city.

○ Speakers include:

• ●Monica Kang, founder of InnovatorsBox (3 sessions)

• ●Google employees (2 sessions)

• ●CEO of a leading AI startup (1 session)

○ Notably, Sessions 4 and 5 led by Google Cloud engineers will offer AI technology training and hands-on Google AI Studio practice.

Prior to the official start of the program, Busan City will host a major networking event titled “Special Startup Pocha” on August 26, attended by Mayor Park Heong-joon, Google Korea President Kim Kyung-hoon, and over 130 startup stakeholders from the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region.

○ The event will commemorate the launch of the 2025 AI Startup School and the 10th anniversary of Google Startup Campus. It will include:

• ●A “Google Expert Session” featuring speakers from Google Cloud and Google Customer Solutions

• ●A Fireside Chat with founders of promising AI startups
