□ Mayor Park Heong-joon of Busan Metropolitan City announced today (July 29) at 2:30 PM that the city will certify and recognize 21 local companies that have served as the foundation of the local industrial economy as “2025 Busan Metropolitan City Local Enterprises.”

○ Local enterprises refer to companies headquartered in Busan with at least 30 years of operation, 100 or more regular employees, and an average annual revenue of KRW 20 billion or more over the past three years. These companies have contributed to revitalizing the regional economy.

□ Since first implementing the Local Enterprise Certification Program in 2006, the city has selected and managed a total of 68 companies to date. These enterprises have played a pivotal role in strengthening Busan’s industrial foundation.

○ This year, a total of 21 companies have been selected, including 5 newly certified and 16 re-certified. The city received applications in April, conducted a document review, and finalized the selection of 21 companies through deliberation by the Enterprise Support Committee.

□ The newly certified companies are:

• ●Halla IMS Co., Ltd. (Gangseo-gu): A marine parts manufacturing company with 36 years of stable growth and technological innovation, contributing to the regional shipbuilding industry.

• ●Eunsan Shipping & Air Co., Ltd. (Jung-gu): A global logistics company providing air-sea multimodal transport services, with an average annual revenue of KRW 34 billion over the past three years.

• ●Nara Autosys Co., Ltd. (Gangseo-gu): A machinery manufacturer in the automotive sector recognized for employment stability and product quality.

• ●Samyoung MT (Gangseo-gu): A company specializing in auto parts production, employing over 280 workers and contributing to job creation.

• ●Hyosung Electric Co., Ltd. (Gijang-gun): A power equipment company manufacturing motors, generators, and transformers, with 48 years of history and recognized as a Busan anchor company.

□ The re-certified companies (16) are:

Hi-Lok Korea Co., Ltd., Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry Co., Ltd., Chokwang Paint Co., Ltd., Donghwa Entec Co., Ltd., S&W Co., Ltd., Samwon FA Co., Ltd., MS Gas Co., Ltd., Hantop Co., Ltd., DaeChang Solution Co., Ltd., BNK Busan Bank, SNT Motiv, SEJUNG Co., Ltd., Parkland Co., Ltd., Sungwoo Hitech Co., Ltd., Shell Korea Co., Ltd., and Taekwang Co., Ltd.

□ Certified companies receive plaques and certificates from Busan Metropolitan City. Under Article 7 of the Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Local Enterprises, benefits include increased SME loan support limits, priority selection for trade delegations and overseas expos, promotional support, exemption from public parking and Gwangandaegyo tolls, and various other advantages.

□ Prior to the certification ceremony, the city will announce new preferential policies to honor and strengthen the competitiveness of local enterprises.

○ These new policies are based on four strategic directions: enhanced tailored financial support, creation of cheerful workplaces with labor-management harmony, elevation of brand value, and regulatory easing and support enhancement. A total of 17 detailed initiatives will be newly introduced.

○ In addition to financial support and global promotional strategies, Busan will also implement preferential benefits for all employees of certified companies, such as free or discounted access to cultural and tourism facilities in the city. These include the Busan Cultural Center, Citizens’ Hall, Busan Cinema Center, public sports facilities, and private tourism platforms such as “HollickJam.”

□ After the certification ceremony, there will be a session where company representatives and young employees can share their thoughts, including suggestions for policies they hope to see from the city.

□ Mayor Park is expected to state, “Local enterprises are invaluable assets that have grown alongside our citizens over many years. Busan Metropolitan City will actively support these root enterprises through various policy measures, helping them reach new heights and ensuring their employees are well-recognized and rewarded.”
