Driving Factories with Data Innovation… Busan Metropolitan City to Host the "2025 2nd Digital Transformation (DX) Forum"

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the "2025 2nd Digital Transformation (DX) Forum" on July 30 (Wednesday) at 4:00 p.m. at the Busan Big Data Innovation Center.

Since 2022, the City and Busan Technopark have co-hosted the Digital Transformation (DX) Forum. This year’s forum is being held four times, with this session marking the second.

Each forum is themed around topics reflecting actual demands from the data industry field. Moving beyond simple information sharing, the forum has established itself as a venue for practical exchanges to promote data-based industrial innovation in the Busan region and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Furthermore, the forum aims to enhance the region’s overall digital capabilities by activating collaboration among businesses, institutions, and experts through the networks built via the forum.

This session, titled “Strength through Data: Driving Factories with Data Innovation,” was organized to share practical digital transformation cases grounded in field demand. It will consist of three themed sessions, followed by a time for discussion and interaction among participants.

• In the session titled “AI-based Smart Manufacturing Data Utilization Technologies Centered on KAMP,” Kim Il-jung, Director of the KAIST Manufacturing AI Big Data Center, will introduce methods by which small and medium-sized manufacturers have improved productivity and quality using the public manufacturing data platform, along with strategies for data integration.

• In “Trends in Smart Manufacturing Technologies and Application Cases of Manufacturing AI Data,” Professor Lee Yong-gwan of Korea Polytechnic University will analyze how artificial intelligence contributes to smart manufacturing on the shop floor and will present trends and real-world cases from both Korea and abroad.

• In “SaaS-based Smart Factory Digital Transformation Solution: MARS Case,” Lee Woo-jin, CEO of Amuse Inc., will share how a small manufacturing firm introduced a SaaS-based (Software as a Service) solution to automate its production processes and improve quality. He will also introduce successful cases and innovations resulting from the adoption process.

Any citizen interested in digital transformation may participate in the forum. Registration is available via the Busan Big Data Innovation Center website (busanbigdata.kr).

Through this forum, Busan Metropolitan City expects not only professionals in manufacturing, the data industry, and startups, but also citizens interested in digital transformation, to gain a better understanding of smart factory technologies and data utilization. The forum is also anticipated to contribute to strengthening digital competitiveness among small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and to expanding a private-public cooperative digital transformation ecosystem.
