Come and Join Us… Busan Metropolitan City to Offer Fire Prevention Education through the “Proper Apartment Management Citizens’ Class”

Busan Metropolitan City Mayor Park Heong-joon announced that the city will hold the “Proper Apartment Management Citizens’ Class” for the second half of 2025 at 2 p.m. on July 30 in the City Hall Main Auditorium, under the theme of fire prevention and evacuation in apartment complexes.

This event has been organized in response to the recent string of fire accidents in apartment buildings, aiming to prevent future incidents and enhance the citizens’ emergency response capabilities.

The class targets apartment residents and management personnel, and will include practical fire safety education focusing on real-life fire cases, prevention and evacuation strategies, and safe operation of household electrical appliances such as air conditioners.

The session will be led by Professor Jeong Doo-gyun of Catholic University of Busan and Fire Lieutenant Jo Sang-hyun of the Busan Fire & Disaster Headquarters, who will share practical and relevant information based on their expertise and hands-on experience.

The class is open to the public and does not require prior registration.

Bae Seong-taek, Director of the Housing & Architecture Bureau, stated, “Fires in apartment complexes can occur at any time, but educational efforts like this can help minimize damage. We hope this program will strengthen fire safety management capabilities in apartment housing, and we encourage all citizens to take part.”
