Busan Metropolitan City Signs Agreement for the “Win-Win Project for Small Businesses and the Underprivileged”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced today (21st) that it has signed a written agreement for the “Win-Win Project for Small Businesses and the Underprivileged” with the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of ChildFund Korea.

The “Win-Win Project for Small Businesses and the Underprivileged” is a regional collaboration initiative that aims to enhance the competitiveness of small businesses in Busan by supporting improvements in brand design and to contribute to the local community by purchasing goods from these businesses and donating them to underprivileged groups.

Through this agreement, HUG has pledged a donation of 100 million KRW for the project, and each participating organization has committed to fulfilling its respective role through joint collaboration.

Upon execution of the agreement:

• ●Busan Metropolitan City will be responsible for selecting small businesses (both for brand design support and as suppliers of goods to be donated) and promoting the project.

• ●HUG will provide 100 million KRW in funding to support project implementation.

• ●ChildFund Korea Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters will carry out the selection and support of underprivileged beneficiaries and manage the execution of project funds.

The 100 million KRW donation from HUG will be used for:

• ●Brand design improvements and product purchases from small businesses in Busan

• ●Donation of purchased products to underprivileged individuals

The brand design support will include assistance with logos, signage, brochures, and other branding materials, thereby strengthening the self-reliance and growth potential of small businesses.

Additionally, by purchasing and distributing these small business products to the underprivileged, the project aims to foster mutual prosperity and a virtuous cycle within the local community.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “This agreement is a meaningful model for mutual growth involving both small businesses and the local community,” and added, “I sincerely thank HUG and the regional headquarters of ChildFund Korea for their commitment to strengthening support for small businesses in our city, and we will continue to promote diverse public-private partnership projects that foster collaborative prosperity.”
