Busan Citizens to Receive 30% Tuition Reduction at Busan Digital University!

□ Mayor Park Heong-joon of Busan Metropolitan City announced that on July 15, an educational cooperation agreement was signed with President Choi Won-il of Busan Digital University to promote lifelong education and nurture local talent.

□ Through this agreement, citizens whose resident registration is in Busan and who enroll in Busan Digital University will receive a 30% reduction in tuition fees for regular semesters until graduation.

○ Additionally, 78 citizens who applied for admission during the second semester application period (June 1–July 15, 2025) as freshmen or transfer students are also expected to receive the tuition reduction.

□ Currently, Busan Digital University operates 16 departments, including Business Administration, and this year it was selected for the “2025 Cyber University Digital Education Environment Advancement Support Project” hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service. The university is pursuing the implementation of a digital education platform based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR).

• ●Departments include: Business Administration, Counseling Psychology, Korean Language, Visual Media, Computer Information Security, Family and Youth Counseling, Counseling Therapy, Psychology, Elderly Welfare, Social Welfare Administration, Social Welfare, Mental Health Counseling, Child Studies, Lifelong Education, Public Safety Administration, and Health Management.

□ Kim Gwi-ok, Director General of the Youth and Industry-Academia Cooperation Bureau, stated, “We are pleased to reduce the financial burden of citizens who wish to pursue lifelong learning through this agreement,” and added, “We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that citizens can easily access lifelong education.”
