Public Briefing on “Igidae Art Park and Centre Pompidou Busan” Held Today (15th)

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host a public briefing session on the “Igidae Art Park Development and Centre Pompidou Busan Construction” today (15th) at 3:00 PM in the Grand Auditorium of Nam-gu Office.

The city has thus far communicated project progress through expert forums, three roundtable discussions, and press releases. This briefing was organized to facilitate direct communication with citizens.

The session will include ▲a promotional video on Igidae Art Park, ▲an explanation of the Igidae Art Park enhancement and Centre Pompidou Busan projects, and ▲a Q&A segment. It will be held in Nam-gu, where Igidae Park, the target site, is located.

The project presentations will be delivered by the heads of the city's Parks and Leisure Policy Division and Culture and Arts Division, respectively. The Q&A will be overseen by the Director General of the Culture Bureau.

Citizens in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions and freely discuss any misunderstandings, curiosities, or future plans regarding the projects directly at the venue.

Separately from this session, the city has been hosting “Cultural Listening” meetings since March with artists from various genres and relevant experts to gather not only opinions on the projects but also broader feedback and suggestions concerning the local cultural and arts landscape.

The “Cultural Listening” initiative has been held nine times from March to May, with a total of 135 participants.

Starting with this briefing, Busan Metropolitan City plans to continue public engagement through future sessions to foster proper understanding and increase public interest and participation in the strategic projects of Igidae Art Park and Centre Pompidou Busan.
