Bokcheon Museum to Offer Art Workshop for Adults

The Bokcheon Museum, a branch of the Busan Metropolitan City Museum, announced that it will host a craft-based art program titled <Bokcheon One-Day Craft Studio> for adults from July to November. The classes will be held on the fourth Friday of each month from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This program was planned to move beyond the lecture-centered adult museum education programs previously offered, aiming instead to promote interest in cultural heritage and enhance visitor satisfaction through a variety of popular craft art experiences.

The workshops are one-day craft classes linked to the Bokcheondong Ancient Tombs (a designated historic site and major Gayaculture site in Busan) and the museum’s upcoming special exhibition tentatively titled Jewels Made of Sand: Glass Beads, scheduled for September.

Program highlights include:

• ●[July 25] Terrarium inspired by the Bokcheondong Ancient Tombs

• ●[August 22] Hanji mood lamp depicting the landscape of the Bokcheondong Tombs using oil pastels and pressed flowers

• ●[September 26] Glass mobile (suncatcher) creation linked to the special exhibition

• ●[October 24] Soap art inspired by glass beads

• ●[November 28] Plaster air freshener making using representative artifacts from Bokcheon Museum

Each session accommodates 20 adult participants on a first-come, first-served basis and is free of charge. Those wishing to participate may apply via the museum’s website (museum.busan.go.kr/bokcheon) from 10:00 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month until 5:00 p.m. on that Friday.
