Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Asset Management Corporation (President Jung Jung-hoon) today (July 8) at 3:00 p.m. in the International Reception Room of City Hall to improve youth perception of local companies.

Mayor Park Heong-joon and President Jung Jung-hoon of Korea Asset Management Corporation will attend the signing ceremony. The MOU aims to promote collaborative projects between the two institutions so that young people in Busan can better engage with and understand local companies.

Through this agreement, the city seeks to provide young people in Busan with accurate information about local companies and foster positive perceptions, thereby laying the groundwork for encouraging local employment and settlement.

The two institutions will promote initiatives such as the operation of the “Busan Youth Job Plus Academy” and the “Youth-Led Company Job Strategy Competition” to strengthen youth employment capabilities and improve understanding of and accessibility to local companies.

The “Busan Youth Job Plus Academy” will be run in collaboration with university job-plus centers in the region and will consist of both curricular and extracurricular programs. In connection with the Busan Youth Job Growth Project, the academy will include local company tours, special lectures by industry professionals, and a job strategy competition to help deepen participants’ understanding of local businesses.

The “Youth-Led Company Job Strategy Competition” will be held as a final round event for outstanding teams selected from university-level competitions. Busan Metropolitan City and Korea Asset Management Corporation will present awards and offer field training opportunities at the Corporation for the top teams.

Mayor Park stated, “This agreement is significant in that both the city and the Korea Asset Management Corporation are working together to address the key issue of youth employment by improving awareness of local companies,” and added, “We hope this initiative will help Busan’s youth discover their potential and take root in the region.”
