Busan Metropolitan City to Host “D-100 Event for the 2025 National (Para) Sports Festival”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “D-100 Commemorative Event for the National (Para) Sports Festival” (hereinafter “the event”) on July 9 from 3:00 p.m. at Sajik Baseball Stadium and Square.

This event is organized under the slogan “Let’s Gather in Busan, Unite through the Games” to mark 100 days until the start of the National (Para) Sports Festival. It aims to raise public and community awareness about the event’s significance and to build excitement leading up to a successful hosting.

The event will be held in two parts:
▲ Part 1 (On-site promotional event) and ▲ Part 2 (Sponsor Match Day), and will be presented in the form of a festive gathering for citizens.

[Part 1 – On-site Promotional Event, 15:00]
The “National Sports Festival On-site Promotional Event” will take place at Sajik Baseball Stadium Square.

It will feature:
▲ Introduction of key National Sports Festival events and tourist attractions of each district and county
▲ Various interactive promotional booths (Boogi Sports Day, Sports Playground, etc.)
▲ Special events (quiz competition, festival showcase)
▲ A photo zone
These programs will allow visitors to experience the diverse charm and value of the National Sports Festival firsthand.

Promotional videos for the Festival will also be screened, and officials will be present to elevate the festive atmosphere.

[Part 2 – Sponsor Match Day, 18:30]
This portion of the event will be held in conjunction with the Lotte Giants’ home game as part of Sponsor Match Day.

Prior to the game at Sajik Baseball Stadium, the following will be presented:
▲ National (Para) Sports Festival promotional videos on the stadium’s large screen
▲ Ceremonial first pitch by Mayor Park Heong-joon
▲ Ceremonial first hit by promotional ambassador and fencing athlete Song Se-ra
▲ Audience quiz games (O/X quiz), among other engaging activities

Additionally, the Festival mascot “Boogi” will perform inside and outside the stadium to foster enthusiasm and public participation in the event.

On the same day, the Busan Sports Council will hold a send-off ceremony for the Busan delegation to commemorate the D-100 milestone and inspire support and interest from citizens.

The National (Para) Sports Festival is Korea’s largest comprehensive sports competition, bringing together athletes from 17 cities and provinces across the nation. It has become a platform for sports exchange and regional unity. The event hosted in Busan this year will also feature various sports competitions and cultural programs.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “Through the D-100 Commemorative Event for the National (Para) Sports Festival, we will garner nationwide attention and elevate the atmosphere for a successful hosting,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure the success of this event, returning to Busan after 25 years.”
