Ready to Be Amazed by AI? A Glimpse into the Future at “K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced it will host the “2025 K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN” from July 15 to 17 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1.

This year’s event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, and the city itself, will feature the theme “AI Core BUSAN: The Hub of AI Technology and Innovation,” and will highlight a regionally driven AI transformation ecosystem where industries, talent, and citizens converge.

The event will include exhibitions of AI convergence technologies and products focusing on regional strategic industries such as AI, cloud, quantum science and technology, and information security. Other features include the Busan-style AI Education Center, buyer consultations, a cloud and data center conference, and a presentation of promising technologies by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).

Leading startups and key ICT firms in future industries—such as Douzone Bizon, Slash B Slash, SoftSquared, Samwon FA, and Modusign—will be on-site to showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovative products and services.

Additionally, local educational and research institutions—including the National Science Museum of Busan, the KAIST Auto-ID Lab Busan Innovation Research Center, and the Graduate School of AI Convergence at Pusan National University—will participate to demonstrate Busan’s digital competency and readiness in cultivating national AI talent.

Following last year’s explosive results at the buyer consultation sessions, which yielded contracts worth KRW 33.6 billion, this year’s event will expand its scope to public sector AI adoption through a special “Meet-up Day” involving local governments and public institutions.

In collaboration with Asia’s largest smart city event, the World Smart City Expo, the event is expected to bring participating companies not only greater global networking opportunities but also tangible business outcomes.

In particular, this year’s event is designed as an open AI experience space where anyone can interact, move, and play with AI for free. This is expected to significantly enhance the public’s perception of and engagement with digital technologies.

At the “AI Robot Pavilion” presented by Xobiz, visitors will experience unique fusions of technology and art through drawing robots and digital canvases. Meanwhile, AI-powered activity zones will include the “Dance Battle Arena” using motion recognition technology by Sidewalk, the “Digital Health Experience Zone” by LONPIC*, and the “Immersive AI Content Experience Zone” by Iconic Movement**, creating a vibrant, sensor-driven digital playground.
