Busan Library × Bibliotheca Busan to Host Book Concert Featuring Author Park Sang-young’s Creative Writing That Saved Me

Busan Library announced that it will co-host a book concert in collaboration with Bibliotheca Busan, featuring writer Park Sang-young and his work Creative Writing That Saved Me. The event will take place on Saturday, 29 June at 2:00 p.m. on the Main Stage at Millak Waterside Park.

At the book concert, Park Sang-young will engage the audience on how to move beyond the illusion of the “Godsaeng” lifestyle—a Korean term for a hyper-productive, seemingly enviable life—and will share insights into the power of creative writing and living a truly authentic life.

The event particularly aims to connect with young people who feel pressured to maintain visibly successful lives in addition to their demanding studies and work. Widely known as a quintessential “Godsaeng” multi-jobber, Park will candidly reveal the fallacies of this idealized lifestyle and explain how writing has helped him reclaim his creativity and build a life that is uniquely his own.

Attendees can submit written questions for the author upon entry, and he will address them during the event. A book-signing session will follow for those who bring his books.

Park Sang-young studied French Literature and Media & Communication at Sungkyunkwan University and aspired to become a writer during his college years. His debut short story “Looking for Paris Hilton” won the Munhakdongne New Writers Award, marking the start of his literary career.
