Busan to Host Briefing Session on Careers with International Organizations to Strengthen Global Competency of Local Youth

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host a “Briefing Session on Careers with International Organizations for Busan Youth” at 1:30 p.m. on July 9 in the main auditorium of Busan Metropolitan City Hall.

The event is co-hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and jointly organized by the Busan Employers Federation and University Career Plus Centers*.
*University Career Plus Centers (nine universities): Kosin University, Kyungsung University, Tongmyong University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dongeui University, Pukyong National University, Busan University of Foreign Studies, Silla University

The session is designed to provide local youth with opportunities to build careers in international organizations and global companies. Pre-registration is available until July 8.
Participants may register in advance through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ International Organization HR Center website (unrecruit.mofa.go.kr) or the event’s official website (www.국제기구진출설명회부산.kr). On-site registration will also be available on the day of the event.

Eight international organizations* based overseas, including the United Nations Secretariat, will present overviews of their career programs and conduct in-depth sessions covering ▲introductions to the organizations and their HR policies, ▲various job categories, ▲interview preparation, and ▲Q&A discussions.

*Participating organizations (8): United Nations Secretariat, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Criminal Court (ICC), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

A mock interview session will also be held for those who apply in advance. Youth interested in participating must apply by June 29 through the same websites. Selected participants will be individually notified via email or mobile phone.

Busan Metropolitan City will also host booths at the event, including promotional spaces for international organizations located in Busan (such as APCC and TPO) and consultation booths offering information on the city’s youth policies and career support services for university students.

Furthermore, eight global companies* will conduct in-depth consultation sessions featuring ▲company overviews and hiring processes, as well as ▲on-site Q&A opportunities.
