The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the completion ceremony for Cowellmedi Co., Ltd.’s Global Innovation Center (the company’s second manufacturing plant) will be held on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:00 AM at the center’s location in Gangseo-gu.

The event will be attended by approximately 150 people, including Mayor Park, the Gangseo-gu mayor, and business representatives. The ceremony will include:

• ●Opening and guest introductions

• ●Welcome and congratulatory remarks

• ●Progress report and plaque of appreciation

• ●Cake-cutting and ribbon ceremony

• ●A tour of the center

About the Center

Cowellmedi’s Global Innovation Center was established within the Eco Delta Smart City’s Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex in Gangseo-gu.
It features cutting-edge automation and research facilities as a smart factory, and is expected to play a central role in expanding exports of dental implants.

Cowellmedi is Korea’s first company to localize the development of dental implants and has continuously innovated its technology, expanding its market to over 60 countries worldwide.
Previously based in Sasang-gu (where its first plant remains), the company now plans to relocate its headquarters to the new second plant.

With the completion of the Global Innovation Center, Cowellmedi aims to:

• ●Operate factory tour programs for local students, contributing to local education and community development

• ●Cement its role as a leading company in the dental implant industry

Broader Significance

Following the investment agreement with Daewoo Pharm on June 23, this second-day visit to Cowellmedi demonstrates the city’s strong commitment to fostering bio-health as one of its 9 strategic industries.

In December 2024, Busan finalized its 6th Strategic Industry Master Plan, titled "Big Challenge: Reimagining Busan Industry", designating the following nine priority sectors:
