"Trustworthy Care, Even on Weekends and Holidays" – Busan Expands the "Busan 365 Open Hourly Childcare Centers" Program

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will expand the “Busan 365 Open Hourly Childcare Centers” program, starting from August 1, adding 4 more centers to the existing 6, increasing the number of participating centers to 10.

The "Busan 365 Open Hourly Childcare Centers" program was first launched as a pilot in August 2023 to support parents who need emergency childcare services due to sudden work commitments, hospital visits, or family care duties. Due to the high demand for services on weekends and holidays, the city has decided to expand the program.

New Centers Added:

• ●Yeongdo District: Jeollyeong Childcare Center

• ●Busanjin District: Busanjin Childcare Support Center

• ●Bukgu: Hwamyung Childcare Center

• ●Haeundae District: Neulsarang Childcare Center

The expanded service will cater to children aged 6 months to 6 years and will be available at the expanded centers, offering parents a reliable solution for short-term childcare needs on weekends and holidays.

Program Details:

• ●Operating Hours:

• ○Weekends and holidays: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (All 10 centers)

• ○Weekdays (Busan Childcare Support Center): 6:00 PM to midnight

• ●Childcare Fees:

• ○4,000 KRW per hour

• ○Parents pay 1,000 KRW; the city covers 3,000 KRW

• ○80 hours per month of support; additional hours are fully covered by the parents

The service is available through reservations made 14 days in advance. Parents can book services via the “Busan Is Good” Dongbaekjeon app or directly by calling the relevant center.

Expansion and Future Plans:
