Future Architects Dreaming of a Creative Career – Join the "Children’s Architecture Festival!"

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon), in partnership with the Busan Architects Association (President Kang Mi-sook), announced the 28th Citizen Architecture University’s "Children’s Architecture Festival with Architects", to be held on July 19 at 8:30 AM in the Busan Ilbo Grand Auditorium.

This event, aimed at spreading architectural culture and discovering future talent, is part of the Citizen Architecture University’s educational and cultural programs. It is held annually to help elementary school students in Busan better understand architecture and explore career opportunities.

This year’s theme, “Architecture Across Time” (Is it from the past or from the future?), will allow children to unleash their creativity and imagination through architecture. The program will feature:

• ●Architecture lectures led by professional architects

• ●Imagination Drawing (Imagination Collage) for younger students (grades 1-3)

• ●Imagination Model Making for older students (grades 4-6)

The children will have the chance to explore architecture through drawing and model-making, allowing them to envision their own unique architecture in a space where imagination and creativity know no limits.

The event will be supported by active participation from current architects, who will guide and inspire the children in their creative process.

Registration

Registration will open on June 30 and close on July 4 via the Citizen Architecture University website (www.citizenarchitectureuniversity.com). Participation is free of charge, and any elementary school student in Busan can register.

The winners of the activities, including drawing and model making, will be selected for special awards. The winning drawings and models will be displayed during the 2025 Busan International Architecture Festival (Sept. 17-21) at BEXCO.

Prizes and Exhibition

• ●Awards: Winners will receive Mayor’s Award, Chairman of the City Council’s Award, and others.

• ●Exhibition: Winning works will be displayed during the 2025 Busan International Architecture Festival at BEXCO.

Hah Seong-tae, Director of the Housing and Architecture Bureau, stated:
