KB Kookmin Bank Donates KRW 30 Million to Support Youth Preparing for Independence and Wedding Ceremonies

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that at 10:30 AM today (June 18), a donation ceremony was held in the 7th-floor conference room of City Hall in collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank to support youth preparing for independence and wedding ceremonies for engaged couples.

○ The event was arranged to provide practical support to young adults transitioning to independent living after leaving the care system.

○ The ceremony was attended by Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs Lee Jun-seung, KB Kookmin Bank’s Head of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Region Yoon Yong-hwan, Busan City Hall Branch Manager Shin Hee-yong, and Vice President of the Busan Child Welfare Association Park Geum-joo.

During the ceremony, KB Kookmin Bank donated KRW 30 million, which will be allocated to:

▲ KRW 20 million for the “Busan Youth Home Run” project to support youth moving into independent housing

▲ KRW 10 million to assist engaged couples with wedding ceremony expenses

The “Busan Youth Home Run” project supports youth within five years of leaving protective care in the Busan area by providing up to KRW 500,000 per person for moving expenses, starting from July.

○ Eligible expenses include:

▲ Moving service fees

▲ Real estate brokerage fees

▲ Cleaning costs for the new residence

○ The City also plans to go beyond financial support by monitoring living conditions after the move and connecting young adults to necessary services, ensuring they adapt well to their new environment.

Vice Mayor Lee Jun-seung stated,
“KB Kookmin Bank’s donation is a meaningful gesture that helps Busan’s younger generation, including youth preparing for independence, begin a hopeful new chapter in life with the support of our community.”
He added, “The City will continue working to establish practical and sustainable support systems through public-private cooperation.”
