“Magic Beyond Time” – 20th Busan International Magic Festival to Feature the ‘Magic Convention’

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) and the Busan International Magic Festival Organizing Committee (Executive Director: Kang Yeol-woo) announced that the Magic Convention will be held from June 19 to 22 at the Busan Cinema Center.

○ This convention is part of the 20th Busan International Magic Festival, which runs throughout 2025 at venues including the Busan Cinema Center, Busan Citizens’ Hall, and Haeundae Gunam-ro.

The event features a rich lineup of programs, including:
– Magic Gala Show featuring world-renowned magicians
– 52, a solo show by Yu Ho-jin, winner of SBS’s The Magic Star
– International Magic Competition for rising magicians
– Magic Lecture sessions revealing professional magicians’ techniques
– Magic Talk Show hosted by world-class production directors
– Comedy Magic Show by the world’s only trot magician, Kim Min-hyung
– 20th Anniversary Exhibition
– Interactive experience programs for the public

At the Magic Gala Show, top magicians will gather for a grand opening night showcasing various genres of magic in one spectacular performance.

○ Hosted by magician Kim Yujeong-guk, the show features seven renowned magicians from Korea, Japan, and Italy, delivering mesmerizing acts.

In Yu Ho-jin’s solo show 52, themed “One story completed by 52 lives,” audiences will experience the artistic depth of card magic.

○ Going beyond technical tricks, the show explores the symbolism and storytelling of each card, delivering a sophisticated narrative through Yu’s unique style and direction.

The International Magic Competition, a main event of the festival, provides a stage for new talents to showcase their skills.

○ This year’s finals will feature 23 magicians from five countries: Korea, China, Thailand, the U.S., and Japan.
An international panel of judges, led by Italy’s Domenico Dante, will apply world-class competition standards in their evaluations.

The Magic Lecture series, part of the All-Access Pass program, offers a rare chance to observe professional techniques firsthand.
