A Feast of Film and Cuisine – The 2025 Busan Food Film Festa Opens Tonight (June 13) with a Spectacular Opening Night

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the 2025 Busan Food Film Festa (20BFFF) will kick off with a grand Opening Night at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center on June 13 (Fri).

This event is co-hosted and organized by the Busan Food Film Festa Organizing Committee and the Busan Cinema Center.

During the Opening Night, visitors will enjoy the introduction of the festival’s major programs, a themed music performance, and the opening film screening—setting the stage for a rich and vibrant celebration.

Free admission will be granted to the first 1,000 attendees. The evening will begin at 7:00 PM and be hosted by BFFF Programmer Park Sang-hyun and food researcher Hong Sin-ae.

This year’s themed performance reinterprets the concept of "noodles (麵)" through music, presented by the invited classical string ensemble Ensemble Oneit.

Inspired by the textures and thickness of noodles, the performance will offer three themed musical sections—Hot Noodles, Cold Noodles, and Stir-fried Noodles—expressing a rich fusion of flavor and sound.

• ●Hot Noodles: Featuring “Por una Cabeza” from Scent of a Woman and Piazzolla’s passionate “Libertango” to evoke warmth and deep flavor

• ●Cold Noodles: Vivaldi’s “Summer” from The Four Seasons brings a refreshing and brisk mood

• ●Stir-fried Noodles: Monti’s “Czardas” delivers a vibrant and spirited finale with dynamic rhythm and brilliant technique

The opening film, The Taste of Pho, will be screened outdoors.

The film delicately portrays the story of Long, a Vietnamese chef who migrates to Poland, and reflects on identity, intergenerational conflict, and cultural differences—centered around a single bowl of noodles. Audiences will be invited into a thoughtful reflection on the human experience.

Additionally, from 5:30 PM on June 13, simple noodle dishes based on the festival’s theme—Myeon, Jeomyeon, Yomyeon—will be offered for free to the first 1,000 guests.

In addition to the official programs such as the Food Terrace, Shareholder Club, and Food Salon, various side events will also be available:

• ●Food Zone: Trendy food trucks and surprise pop-up shops

• ●Potluck Table: At the outdoor plaza, visitors can enjoy traditional liquor, wine, beer, and special baked goods from the pop-up bakery market “Bbangtastic”

• ●Theme Zone: Local noodle restaurants will serve signature dishes, and visitors can participate in a hands-on “makguksu” (buckwheat noodles) experience, making it a fun event for families
