Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the 2025 First Half Busan Social Economy Public Procurement Fair on June 10 at 10:00 a.m., in the City Hall Grand Conference Room and 1st Floor Lobby.

What is Social Economy?
Social economy refers to all economic activities that pursue public benefit and social values, such as reducing polarization and creating jobs.
Social economy enterprises include preliminary social enterprises, social cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises.

About the Fair
This event is organized to expand market access for local social economy enterprises and to raise awareness of the need for public institutions to prioritize procurement of social economy products.

Now in its 7th year since its inception in 2019, the fair is expanding to be held twice annually, in the first and second halves of the year.

This first-half edition will feature:

• ●49 social economy enterprises

• ●43 public institutions, including Busan City, district and county offices, public corporations, and government-funded agencies

• ●Public Procurement Consultation Sessions

• ○Format: 1:1 customized consultation sessions between public agencies and social economy enterprises, scheduled in advance

• ●Product Exhibition and Market

• ○Time: June 10, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

• ○Venue: City Hall 1st Floor Lobby

• ○Displays and market booths featuring products from 40 participating enterprises

• ●Side Program

• ○Consulting services on eco-friendly packaging to help prevent excessive product packaging

• ●Public Institutions: increased understanding of and commitment to prioritizing the purchase of social economy goods

Kim Bong-chul, Director-General of the Digital Economy Bureau of Busan City, stated:
