Busan City to Display 2025 Summer Edition of the Busan Cultural Billboard

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it has selected the message for the summer 2025 edition of the Busan Cultural Billboard, which will be displayed on the outer wall of City Hall for approximately three months from June 7 to August 31.

The selected summer message is an original creation by Mr. Park Jin-young and reads:
“Rest under the shade — even the wind is waiting for you.”

The winning entry was chosen through a two-week public contest held in April. Out of a total of 330 submissions, it was selected through preliminary screening by the Busan Writers’ Association and a final fair evaluation conducted by the city.

Kim Yu-jin, Director of the Future Design Headquarters, stated,

“The message is especially moving in how it offers a space for mental rest to citizens during the sweltering summer. The elements of nature, rest, and waiting come together harmoniously, and I believe the message will bring warm comfort and a sense of renewal to those weary from their busy lives.”

Meanwhile, the contest for the fall edition will be held in July.

The message should be no more than 25 characters and convey themes such as love, hope, or warm-heartedness. Both original works and excerpts from literary works are eligible for submission.

The winner will receive a cultural gift certificate worth 150,000 KRW, while six runner-up entries will each receive a gift certificate worth 50,000 KRW.
