Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that, in celebration of “Sports for All Month,” it will host the “BIG5 Busan Mayor’s Cup National Amateur Volleyball Tournament” from May 31 (Sat) to June 1 (Sun) at Gijang Gymnasium.

The event will bring together volleyball enthusiasts and amateur clubs from across Korea, reflecting the sport’s popularity from grassroots to professional levels. Approximately 1,000 players from 30 men’s and women’s teams will compete in the tournament.

Tournament Format

• ●Preliminary Rounds: May 31 – Group league format (10 groups)

• ●Finals: June 1 – Knockout tournament among top-ranking teams from each group

The tournament promises to deliver exciting matchups and spirited competition.

Fan Signing Event with Pro Volleyball Players

A special event for volleyball fans will take place on Saturday, May 31 at 11:30 AM at the main arena of Gijang Gymnasium.

• ○Kwon Seung-seok and Cho Jae-young (Korean Air)

• ○Jung Tae-jun (Hyundai Capital)

• ○Jung Si-young (Hyundai E&C)

This event will be a rare opportunity for citizens to meet star athletes up close. Please note that the signing schedule may change depending on circumstances on site.
