Busan Agricultural Technology Center to Host On-site Training on Brush Cutter Maintenance and Safety in the First Half of 2025

The Busan Agricultural Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") announced that it will hold the “2025 First Half Practical Training on Brush Cutter Maintenance, Inspection, and On-site Safety” (hereinafter referred to as the "Training") at its Agricultural Machinery Rental Office from June 10 to 11.

Training Overview

• ●Period: June 10 (Tue) – June 11 (Wed), 2025 (2 days, 4 sessions—2 per day)

• ●Venue: Agricultural Machinery Rental Office, Busan Agricultural Technology Center
    (1285 Gonghang-ro, Gangseo-gu, Busan)

• ●Participants: 100 Busan citizens (farmers and the general public)

• ●Content: Proper management and safe use of motorized brush cutters

The training will take place twice daily (10:00 and 13:00), with 25 participants per session. Each session will be taught by subject-matter experts and divided into two main parts: maintenance and inspection, and practical safety training.

[Maintenance and Inspection]

This session will cover:

• ●How to start a brush cutter engine

• ●Emergency response procedures

• ●Key carburetor circuits

• ●Fuel mixing techniques

• ●Spark plugs*

• ●Blade inspection

• ●Fueling systems

• ●Names and functions of major components

* Spark Plug: A device installed in the combustion chamber of a gasoline engine that generates electricity to ignite the air-fuel mixture.

[Practical Safety Training]

This session will cover:

• ●Pre-operation site checks

• ●Proper use of protective gear

• ●Critical safety precautions during operation

In particular, the Center will offer free consumable parts—such as brush cutter blades and spark plugs—for one machine per participant. For parts costing over 40,000 KRW, the parts fee will be charged, but labor for repairs will be provided free of charge.

All citizens who own a motorized brush cutter are eligible to participate. Registration begins on May 29 at 10:00 a.m. via phone (☎051-970-3751~3) on a first-come, first-served basis. After registering, participants must bring their ID and brush cutter (one per person) to the Center on the day of the session.

Yoo Mi-bok, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated,

“Due to the positive feedback from last year’s training, we plan to hold additional sessions not only in the first half but also in the second half of the year. We expect this training to contribute significantly to extending equipment lifespan and preventing safety accidents.”
