Busan Library to Support the “2025 Local Bookstore Reading Culture Program”

Busan Library (hereinafter referred to as the “Library”) announced that it will support the “2025 Local Bookstore Reading Culture Program” to be held at 14 local bookstores from June to November.

The “Local Bookstore Reading Culture Program” is designed to foster the development of local bookstores as hubs for books and culture, while promoting everyday reading activities among citizens. The Library provides annual funding for the program, and participating bookstores independently plan and operate their own unique content.

This year, 14 bookstores will participate in the program:

• ●Chaekbang Neomeo (Gangseo-gu)

• ●Sseuda Books (Geumjeong-gu)

• ●Miu Seojae (Nam-gu)

• ●Ibagu Bookstore (Busanjin-gu)

• ●Creta (Busanjin-gu)

• ●Gangajittong (Buk-gu)

• ●Musai (Buk-gu)

• ●Munjang Bookstore (Saha-gu)

• ●Dongju Bookstore (Seo-gu)

• ●Basakra (Suyeong-gu)

• ●DooDooD Books (Suyeong-gu)

• ●The, Place (Suyeong-gu)

• ●Chaekgwa Aideul (Yeonje-gu)

• ●Dongnae Bookstore Arke (Haeundae-gu)

Each bookstore will host its program from June to November. Programs include:

• ●“Filling the Dignity of Adulthood and Healing Through Handwriting”

• ●“Healing Through Creating Personalized Poetry Picture Books”

• ●“Birth of a Busan Author Project”

• ●“Book-Cinema Talk”

• ●“Reflecting on Life Through Everyday Drawing”

• ●“Reading the Analects, a Timeless Classic, at the Local Bookstore”

These and other distinctive and engaging events will be offered by participating bookstores.
