Classic Busan to Host “2025 Classic Park Concert”

The Classic Busan organization announced that it will host the “2025 Classic Park Concert” on June 7 and 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Hialeah Lawn Plaza in Busan Citizens Park, in celebration of the upcoming opening of the Busan Concert Hall on June 21.

The “Classic Park Concert” is an outdoor classical music event designed to provide citizens with a more accessible and enjoyable classical music experience ahead of the Busan Concert Hall’s opening. Held annually since 2023, the event has garnered acclaim from both audiences and critics alike.

On Day 1 of the concert series, a gala concert will be held featuring soprano Jo Sumi. On Day 2, Artistic Director Chung Myung-whun will conduct a performance of Beethoven's works in collaboration with the KBS Symphony Orchestra and pianist Sunwoo Yekwon.

[Day 1: June 7] Jo Sumi, the honorary ambassador of the Busan Opera House, will perform a gala concert with the Classic Busan Orchestra and Chorus for the 2025 season. The program will include beloved opera arias, art songs, and popular music selections.
The performance will feature:

• ●Soprano: Jo Sumi

• ●Tenor: Kim Hyun-soo

• ●Violinist: Lee Hyun-woong

• ●Conductor: Kim Sang-hoon

Aria: A melodic solo or duet piece in opera with instrumental accompaniment
Gala: A performance presenting selected highlights from operas or musicals

[Day 2: June 8] Artistic Director Chung Myung-whun will lead the KBS Symphony Orchestra in performances of:

• ●Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67 (“Fate”)

• ●Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 73 (“Emperor”)
  with pianist Sunwoo Yekwon as soloist.
