“Busan Youth ₩10,000+ Culture Pass” — Applications Begin May 28! Watch ₩110,000 Worth of Performances for Only ₩10,000!

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that applications for the “Busan Youth ₩10,000+ Culture Pass” — a program designed to enhance cultural access for local youth — will open on May 28 at 10:00 AM through the Dongbaekjeon app on a first-come, first-served basis.

• ●The “Busan Youth ₩10,000+ Culture Pass” allows Busan-registered residents aged 18 to 39 (born between 1986 and 2007) to pay ₩10,000 and receive up to ₩110,000 worth of cultural performance access. This year’s program will support 8,500 recipients.

• ●Through the “Policy Fund Application” section of the Dongbaekjeon app, applicants will be selected in sequence as follows: ▲ ₩100,000 voucher for 7,500 people, ▲ ₩50,000 voucher for 1,000 people.

• ●Successful applicants will receive a “Congratulations” message on the app. The type of voucher awarded will be confirmed via push notifications on the same day following eligibility verification.

• ●Note: Those born in 2006 should apply through the separate “Youth Culture and Arts Pass”* supported jointly by the City and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In addition, past beneficiaries from 2024 (of either the Busan Youth Culture Pass or the Youth Culture and Arts Pass) are not eligible for this year’s program.

• ○“Youth Culture and Arts Pass”: A separate program offering up to ₩150,000 per person to 8,881 19-year-old Busan residents (born in 2006), covering cultural and exhibition experiences. Applications and issuance run until May 31 via affiliated ticketing platforms (Interpark, YES24). The pass is valid until December 31, 2025.

To ensure a smoother application process, interested applicants are encouraged to install (or update) the Dongbaekjeon app and issue their digital citizen ID before May 28.

• ●The digital citizen ID is a blockchain-based electronic ID that enables access to policy fund support, 15-minute city living zone maps, and other platform services — all accessible through the Dongbaekjeon app.

The “Busan Youth ₩10,000+ Culture Pass” can be used only for performances recommended or designated by the City. These include a wide range of shows such as ▲ the global musical hit “Aladdin,” ▲ the classical performance “Emperor and Organ” featuring pianist Cho Seong-jin, and ▲ theater + musical performance packages. The full list of performances will be released at 10:00 AM on June 9 via the Dongbaekjeon app.
