Doosan Engineering & Construction Donates KRW 17 Million to Improve Housing for Vulnerable Households in Busan

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that a donation ceremony for housing improvement for vulnerable households was held at 2:00 p.m. yesterday (May 22) in the International Protocol Room at City Hall.

Attendees included Lee Jun-seung, Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Busan; Oh Se-wook, Executive Director of Doosan E&C; professional golfer Yoo Hyun-joo of the Doosan We’ve Golf Team; and Lee Soo-tae, President of the Busan Community Chest of Korea.

At the ceremony, Doosan E&C donated KRW 17 million raised from ticket sales and fan merchandise (T-shirt) sales during the “2025 Doosan We’ve Championship” golf tournament, to support housing improvements for the underprivileged in Busan.

The donation will be used by the Busan Community Chest of Korea to improve housing environments for discharged patients in need of care. Improvements will include installation of safety bars, removal of thresholds, anti-slip measures, and installation of grab bars.

Doosan E&C, a leading general construction company in Korea, actively practices corporate social responsibility and pursues a sustainable future.

The company has been engaged in various community contribution efforts, including disaster recovery support and aid for persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups. Additionally, it continues employee-participatory volunteer and donation activities focused on community safety and support for the underprivileged.

Oh Se-wook, Executive Director of Doosan E&C, remarked,
“It is deeply meaningful to give back the support and interest received from citizens during the ‘We’ve Championship’ through this donation,” and added,
“Beyond corporate growth, Doosan E&C will continue to be a sustainable partner in sharing, fulfilling our social responsibilities through diverse contribution efforts.”

Lee Jun-seung, Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Busan, stated,
“This donation from Doosan E&C is expected to greatly help improve the living conditions of vulnerable households,” and emphasized,
“The city will continue working with corporations to eliminate welfare blind spots and promote stable housing for the underprivileged.”
