Busan Launches Community Health Survey Starting Today (May 16)

Mayor Park Heong-joon of the Busan Metropolitan City announced that the city will conduct the 2025 Community Health Survey from May 16 to July 31, targeting 14,500 citizens aged 19 or older.

The Community Health Survey is a nationally approved statistical survey conducted annually since 2008 by public health centers across all cities, counties, and districts in accordance with Article 4 of the Regional Public Health Act, to understand the actual health status of local residents.

Survey topics include health behaviors such as smoking, drinking, physical activity, and diet; chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes; vaccinations and medical examinations; and healthcare utilization. The survey spans 19 areas and 178 questions.

Of these, 169 are national standard questions and 9 are city-specific questions. Busan's selected topics include:

• ●Dietary habits, oral health, mental health, vaccination and screenings, disease prevalence, and personal hygiene.

A total of 14,500 citizens, with approximately 900 individuals per district, have been selected using stratified sampling. Nationwide, the total number of survey participants is about 230,000.

Survey Method:
Introductory letters are mailed to the selected households, followed by in-person one-on-one interviews conducted by trained surveyors who have completed prior training through Kosin University and Dong-A University.

Respondents who complete the survey will receive a small gift of appreciation, and the survey results will be published in December.
