10th Busan Original Downtown Revitalization Festival Taxchelin Open Ceremony Venue Changed Due to Rain Forecast

The City of Busan announced that the Taxchelin Open Ceremony for the 10th Busan Original Downtown Revitalization Festival, originally scheduled to be held outdoors at Busan Station Plaza at 7:30 PM on May 16, has been relocated to the indoor venue at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center due to rain forecasts.

Only pre-registered attendees (150 individuals) will be allowed entry to the Open Ceremony, and all have been individually informed of the venue change.

This event will include an awards ceremony for the local restaurants selected for inclusion in the Taxchelin Guidebook, as well as a special dining course where guests can enjoy exclusive dishes with all five senses.

One of the highlight dishes, developed especially for Taxchelin, is a collaborative creation between the restaurant Gogan Hamburg, listed in the Taxchelin guide, and Chef Ryu Ji-hyun of Michelin Guide 2024 restaurant RAMJEE. This dish will also be available for one month after the festival at Gogan Hamburg.

A musical performance by the Serenade troupe is also scheduled for the opening ceremony.

From May 17 to May 18, all interactive experience programs will continue as planned, including:

• ●“Cooking Class”

• ●“Original Downtown Night View Pocha”

• ●“Taxchelin Taxi Ride”

Meanwhile, the city released the Taxchelin Guidebook ahead of schedule on May 14.

The guidebook was carefully curated based on a survey of 250 seasoned taxi drivers with more than 10 years of experience, as well as citizen recommendations. It includes:

• ●Driver interviews

• ●Useful driving tips

• ●Special Taxchelin-exclusive menu items
