A Cultural Universe of Youth Set to Collide! “2025 Jakdang Festa” to Kick Off on May 10

The Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the youth culture festival “2025 Jakdang Festa” will be held from May 10 to 11 at the city’s flagship youth cultural space, Youth Jakdangso.

• ●Youth Jakdangso is located on the 3rd floor of BNK Art Cinema, Sinchang-dong, Jung-gu.

○ The 2025 Jakdang Festa is a youth-led cultural festival co-organized by over 50 teams, including local youth communities, planners, and creators. It has been held annually since 2021 and celebrates its 5th edition this year.

This year’s theme, “The Cultural Universe of Youth: Collision Begins!”, will transform all three floors of BNK Art Cinema into a vibrant festival venue with exhibitions, performances, markets, and workshops happening simultaneously — offering an immersive and expansive experience rooted in youth culture.

○ On the 1st floor outdoor area, visitors can enjoy:

• ●“Jakdang Market”, a marketplace featuring youth communities and vendors (sellers)

• ●“Milky Way Stage”, where young musicians will perform and audiences can participate in open mic sessions

○ On the 2nd floor BNK Art Gallery, the exhibition “Youth Orbit: Our Revolution” will run from May 5 to May 11, showcasing the challenges and growth of four young artists as a linked exhibition to the festival.

○ On the 3rd floor community zone, creative workshops and networking programs will be held, including:

• ●“Create My Own Planet”, a workshop exploring personal identity

• ●“Cosmic Experiment Store”, featuring art experiences and goods from young artists

• ●“Youth Frequency: Wave of Dialogue”, a networking program for planners and creators to share their experiences

Jakdang Festa is a free and open festival for all Busan citizens, where not only youth but also people of all generations can enjoy together. However, some pre-registration programs are specifically designed for youth (aged 18 to 39) and require sign-up via Google Forms.

Meanwhile, Youth Jakdangso, which opened in February 2021, has established itself as a key youth cultural space in Busan where visitors can participate in and experience diverse cultural and artistic programs. In 2024 alone, the center welcomed more than 27,000 visitors.

Kim Gui-ok, Director General of the Youth & Industrial-Academic Support Bureau of the City, stated:
