Busan Agricultural Technology Center to Hold “On-Site Auction for Disused Agricultural Machinery”

The Busan Agricultural Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) announced it will hold an on-site auction for local farmers to dispose of 29 disused agricultural machines (25 types), including ▲rotary tillers for cultivators* and ▲riding compost spreaders, which have exceeded their useful life.

* Rotary tiller for cultivators: A tilling implement with blades attached to a driven shaft used for soil cultivation.

These auction items are agricultural machines that have either exceeded their service life or require excessive repair costs. After a public notice period until May 19, the Center will hold three on-site auctions (May 20, 21, and 22). The highest bidder in each session will win the bid, and each person may bid on up to two machines per session.

○ Eligible participants are farmers who have been registered as agricultural business entities and have resided in Busan for over a year. To participate, they must visit the Center’s Agricultural Machinery Rental Office on the bid date with the following: ▲Certificate of Resident Registration, ▲Agricultural Business Registration Certificate, and ▲Personal ID.

○ Successful bidders must pay the full amount within three days of winning and collect the equipment themselves.

Yoo Mi-bok, Director of the Busan Agricultural Technology Center, stated, “Since these are aged machines, we strongly recommend visiting the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office to check their condition before bidding,” and added, “The Center will continue to operate the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office to help mechanize agricultural work and reduce the financial burden on farmers caused by purchasing equipment.”
