“A Safer Busan, Let’s Build It Together!” Busan Autonomous Police Committee Conducts Various Promotional Activities for Children’s Day

The Busan Autonomous Police Committee (Chairperson Kim Cheol-jun, hereinafter “the Committee”) announced that it participated in the “2025 Busan Children’s Day Festival” held on May 5 at the Busan Cinema Center, offering a variety of hands-on promotional activities for citizens and children.

This event was organized in cooperation with the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, the Busan Autonomous Police Policy Advisory Group, and the Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, and was designed to allow entire families to participate together.

During the event, the Committee operated a range of booths and programs under the slogan “A Safer Busan Created Together with Citizens,” aiming to raise awareness of the autonomous police system and promote traffic safety.

At the “Safe Hands Traffic Safety Campaign” zone, children and citizens had the opportunity to learn about the importance of traffic safety through an interactive hands-on experience. A dedicated photo zone was also provided to naturally introduce the Committee’s roles and activities.

The Committee also partnered with the Korea Racing Authority to offer mini-horse feeding experiences and other engaging activities, providing visitors with a richer and more enjoyable experience.

Special programs were also prepared for children. At the police motorcycle (sidecar) riding experience zone, children could actually ride on a traffic police sidecar, giving them a unique experience while also increasing their awareness and interest in traffic safety and the autonomous police system.

Notably, the event drew attention with the participation of popular comedian Kim Won-hyo, who serves as a promotional ambassador for the Busan Autonomous Police Committee.

Mr. Kim communicated directly with citizens, helping them better understand the role and importance of the autonomous police, and brought a friendly and cheerful atmosphere through photo time sessions and autograph events.

Chairperson Kim Cheol-jun stated,

“Through this Children’s Day event, we hope to raise public awareness of the importance of the autonomous police system in a friendly manner and help spread traffic safety culture. We also hope it serves as a valuable stepping stone toward realizing a safer Busan built together with our citizens.”
