A New Leap with K-POP… The 18th Busan Port Festival to Be Held!

Mayor Park Heong-joon announced that the 18th Busan Port Festival (hereinafter “the Festival”) will be jointly hosted with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Busan Port Authority, and the Busan Port Festival Organizing Committee, and will be held for two days from May 30 to 31.

First launched in 2008 to celebrate “Ocean Day” (May 31), the festival honors the historical and symbolic significance of Busan Port.
This year’s 18th edition will be held at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, Bukhang Waterside Park, and the National Maritime Museum in Yeongdo.

For 2025, the festival has been selected as a local government cooperation project under MyK FESTA, a large-scale Hallyu (Korean Wave) cultural festival hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
With support from the national budget (KRW 500 million in 2024 and KRW 1.4 billion in 2025), the city plans to develop K-POP-themed tourism products and boost promotions to domestic and international tourists, further enhancing Busan’s image as a global city and sustainable tourist destination.

On May 30

• ●A K-POP conference will be held at 11:30 AM at Wyndham Grand Busan under the theme “AI and the Music Industry.”
   Experts will discuss the impact and future of AI in music, shifting the focus from one-off festivals to deep conversations about future K-entertainment industries.

• ●In the evening, a K-POP concert featuring top artists including SUPER JUNIOR-D&E, CNBLUE, N.Flying, ITZY, KyoungSeo, dorji, and ZOZAZZ will take place at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal outdoor parking lot.
   The concert will start at 7:00 PM, followed by the Busan Port Fireworks Show, which will light up the night sky, creating unforgettable memories for visitors.

On May 31

• ●Events at Bukhang Waterside Park include the Global Port Park, K-POP cover dance performances, and various participatory citizen programs.

• ●At the National Maritime Museum in Yeongdo, visitors can enjoy a mission stamp tour and other hands-on activities.

Tickets for the K-POP concert will go on sale at 7:00 PM on May 7 through Melon Ticket (ticket.melon.com/main/index.htm).

Approximately 10,000 seats are planned, and more details will be provided in Melon Ticket announcements on May 2 at 6:00 PM.

Kim Hyun-jae, Director-General of the Tourism MICE Bureau, stated,
“The Busan Port Festival is one of Busan’s most iconic port festivals. This year, we aim to elevate it to a global event by combining Hallyu content with Busan’s charm as a global tourism city.

We will continue preparing diverse programs to create a festival and a city that tourists will want to return to again and again.”
