A Special Experience Enjoying Film and Food Together… 2025 Cinema Food Terrace to Be Held

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon and Busan Tourism Organization President Lee Jeong-sil announced that the 2025 Cinema Food Terrace will be held for two days, from May 5 to 6, at Hwamyeong Ecological Park.

This event marks the first and second sessions of the Cinema Food Terrace, which will run eight times from May to October 2025. The Standard Program consists of a format where guests enjoy a film followed by culinary talks with chefs.

Held in conjunction with the 2025 Busan Wheat Festival, participants will also enjoy various wheat-themed activities and explore the food zone offering a wide range of culinary delights.

Participants will watch the film The Chef while enjoying dishes from Michelin restaurants. Talks will follow featuring chefs selected by the Michelin Guide.

Before the screening, guests can exchange meal vouchers for food from one of three Michelin-listed restaurants—Ramzi, Le Dauphin, and Pasta Bar—at the “Wheat Food Edit Shop” in the festival area.

They will then enjoy the film The Chef, which centers around fine dining and the world of gourmet cuisine.

Following the screening, under the moderation of film critic Park Ji-yeon, Chef Kim Jae-hoon of Michelin-starred Palette and Chef Lee Gyu-jin of Michelin-selected Ramzi will lead a gourmet discussion.

Those wishing to attend the May program can register online via Eventus.

Participation fee is KRW 11,000, and a total of 200 seats (100 per day) will be available.

The 2025 Cinema Food Terrace will continue to be held at iconic venues around Busan—including the Busan Cinema Center and Domoheon—through October, totaling eight sessions.

Originally launched in 2017 as the flagship program of the Busan Food Film Festa, the Food Terrace is an audience-participation program that reinterprets films through the lens of food. It allows participants to taste cuisine related to the film and engage in deep conversation.

Since 2022, the City has collaborated with the Busan Tourism Organization to integrate tourism elements, including a program onboard the Suyeonggang River Cruise, increasing the event’s popularity.

This year, the Cinema Food Terrace will be held in various formats:
▲ Standard Type – watch a movie, enjoy a meal, and join post-film discussions
▲ Signature Type – combines a movie screening and yacht tour
▲ Cinema Concert – enjoy food and film music together

Kim Hyun-jae, Director-General of the Tourism MICE Bureau, stated,
“We hope to offer a unique experience where tourists in Busan can enjoy both film and food, and we aim to establish Cinema Food Terrace as a signature tourism product representing Busan as a city of film and gastronomy.”
