Busan Child Protection Center Accelerates Creation of a Culture that Respects Children's Rights during Children's Week

□ The Busan Child Protection Center (hereinafter the Center) announced that it will carry out various activities during Children's Week 2025 (May 1–7) to foster a culture that respects children’s rights throughout the local community.

○ Children's Week is observed from May 1 to May 7 to promote children's rights and welfare, to raise public awareness of the value and presence of children, and to foster a child-friendly environment across society.

□ During this year’s Children’s Week, citizens will have the opportunity to engage in various hands-on programs through the ▲ “Busan Children’s Day Grand Celebration” booth and the citywide ▲ “Children’s Rights Respect Campaign.”

○ The booth, jointly operated by the Center and specialized child protection agencies, will be held on May 5 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the area around the Busan Cinema Center.
Programs will include ▲ “Seed Words that Protect Children's Rights” and ▲ “Learning Parents, Growing Children,”
designed to help children and guardians naturally understand the importance of children's rights through play and participation.

○ In addition, to spread awareness of children’s rights, the campaign includes:
▲ Banner displays on “Positive Parenting” in all 16 districts throughout May
▲ An exhibition of children's drawings and webtoons at the Center, Yeongdo-gu Office, and Buk-gu Office (May 1–7)
▲ “Children's Rights Book Exhibitions” at libraries including the Children and Youth Library (Busanjin-gu) and Hwamyeong Library (Buk-gu) throughout May.

○ Furthermore, during Children’s Week (May 1–7), card news will be promoted via social media (SNS)* to share the meaning of respecting children’s rights with a wider audience.
