Cinematic Theme Park 'Cine Museum Busan' Opens at the Busan Museum of Movies

The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that the “Cine Museum,” a 338-square-meter interactive exhibition space on the second floor of the Busan Museum of Movies (located in Jung-gu), will officially open tomorrow (May 1).

The name Cine Museum combines “cinema” and “museum,” and the space is filled with hands-on experiences centered around film. It has been designed to reinterpret the history and identity of Busan—known as the “City of Movies”—through a temporal and thematic journey.

The Cine Museum consists of six uniquely themed exhibition rooms. Alongside its opening, the exterior of the ticket office has also been renovated in the style of a 20th-century Hollywood theater, creating expectations that the museum will become a new hotspot for tourism in the city’s original downtown area.

• ●Room 1: “Cinema Busan” features a five-sided immersive screen, allowing visitors to vividly experience the past, present, and future of Busan’s cinematic culture.

• ●Room 2: “Retro Street” recreates the streets of 1970s Busan, complete with nostalgic games and photo zones that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

• ●Room 3 provides a dreamlike photo zone themed around fantasy films, including the Magic Mirror Room, an enchanting space filled with mirrored walls and floating lanterns.

• ●Room 4: “Adventure Awards” lets visitors become the main characters in various film genres, while
  Room 5: “Romantic Slide” offers a unique experience where guests can design their own movie poster using generative AI and then slide through a donut-shaped slide into a whimsical dessert world.

• ●Finally, Room 6 features the Infinity Media Room, where visitors can enjoy an interactive “dessert hunt” experience in an endlessly expanding media environment.

To celebrate the opening, a variety of events will be held over six days from May 1 to 6. All events are free of charge for visitors.

The celebration includes:

• ●Mini sports competitions

• ●Photo opportunities with the city’s official mascot “Boogi”

• ●A Reels (short-form video) contest

Cho Yoo-jang, Director General of the Busan City Culture Bureau, remarked,
