The
13th Busan International Dance Festival (BIDF) will take place at
Haeundae Beach and Busan Cinema Center from June 2nd through June 6th,
2017.
Under
the theme of “Busan Love is painted! Dance through”, the Festival is hosted by
Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Busan International Dance Festival
organizing committee.
The
BIDF presents a broad spectrum of dance performances, ranging from modern
dance, ballet to folk and traditional dance by 46 dance troupes from 15
countries, including Ghana, Taiwan, Germany, Latria, the United States, Israel,
Italy, India, Indonesia, Japan, China, Czech, France, Hungary and the ROK.
Free
outdoor dance performances in various genres will be presented at Haeundae
Beach from June 2nd to 4th at 6:30p.m. The BIDF official
invitation performance, “World Folk Dance Night” is scheduled to be showcased
on Sunday, June 4th at Haeundae Beach.
BIDF
New Young Choreographers is a new program aiming to discover young Busan-based
talented choreographers and to give a boost to dance related fields in Busan.
The
closing performance of the festival will be “Mystery of Time” performed by the
Prague Chamber Ballet. It will be performed on June 6th at the Busan
Cinema Center and attract the attention of the audience with its unique costumes
and stage, while providing outstanding artistic value.
